Recipient of the James W. Brown 2008 Outstanding Publication Award, the premier book award presented by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology. Recipient of the James W. Brown 2002 Outstanding Publication Award, the premier book award presented by the Association for Educational Communications and Technology. Recipient  of  the 1999 Presidential Award for Outstanding  Service to the Division of
Instructional Development.  Awarded by the  Division of Instructional Development, Association for Educational Communications and Technology, February, 1999.

Recipient of  the 1994 Research in Education Award,  presented  by  the Florida State University Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa.  Award given in recognition of research on matters related to public education, May, 1994.

Recipient  of  1992 Presidential Award for Outstanding  Service to the Division of Instructional Development. Awarded by the Division of Instructional Development, Association for Educational Communications and Technology, January, 1992.

Recipient  of  1985-86  Florida State University Teaching  Award, in recognition for excellence in teaching. Awarded by Florida State University, April, 1986.
