My new appointment in the Commission on Mapping from Satellite Imagery of the International Cartographic Association:2008-2011
At the 13rd General Assembly of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) in Moscow, Russia, August, 2007, I was elected to serve as Vice Chair of the Commission for Mapping from Satellite Imagery of the ICA for the term of 2007-2011. Following Professor Graciela Metternicht's recent resignation, I become Chair of this Commission for 2008-2011. My involvement in ICA started from 1997 when I submitted a research paper to the 18th International Cartographic Conference (ICC) in Stockholm, Sweden. In 2001, I was appointed as the US Representative for the Commission on Mapping from Satellite Imagery, International Cartographic Association.
I presented a paper highlighting my recent research on the topographic and hydrographic mapping over coastal lowlands.
