Ms. Janet (Bruce) Hinkle, Retired, graduated from Godby High School in 1974. This former Marching Cougar graduated from Florida State University and became a journalist, mother, political activist and a civic leader. Janet's leadership has been felt on numerous boards including the Southern Shakespeare Festival, the Knight Foundation Advisory Board, the Community Foundation of North Florida, the Refuge House and the Maclay School Board of Trustees, among others. In 2003, she co-chaired a city-appointed committee charged with the responsibility of developing a Cultural Plan for the City of Tallahassee. She is a graduate of both Leadership Tallahassee and Leadership Florida. Janet is also a generous contributor to many local causes including the establishment of a Tallahassee Community College scholarship for Godby band students in recognition of her Godby band director, Jeff Bradford. |
