Mrs. Doris Maloy, Leon County Tax Collector, graduated from Godby High School
in 1973.
After leaving Godby, Doris excelled at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University by graduating as a Summa Cum Laude Business Administration Major. Doris later obtained an MBA at Florida State University. Doris was elected as the Leon County Tax Collector in 2000 and subsequently won re-election in 2004 and 2008. Doris was the first African American Tax Collector elected in the State of Florida.
