Bio

I was born and raised in Brisbane, Australia. I completed my undergraduate degree, and a 1-year honors degree, both in Economics, at the University of Queensland. In 2007, I moved to Pasadena, CA to complete my Ph.D at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). My dissertation was completed in 2012 (conferred in 2013) under the direction of John Ledyard.

I began my career at FSU in August 2012, first in a visiting position, then in a tenure-track position, and was promoted to Associate Professor (with tenure) in August 2020.

In my research, I use both laboratory experiments and applied game theory to study behavior in a variety of strategic environments -- including contests, public goods provision, and principal-agent relationships. Within these environments, my work has examined the impact of information disclosure on competition, the influence of social preferences and reciprocity on cooperation, and the importance of network connections for behavior.
