Teaching Philosophy

I have found in my experience that the most effective learning environment is one where students and instructor have meaningful interactions both inside and outside the classroom.  I believe in assignments that require more than mere rote memorization and require the application of concepts in a personal way.  It is my view that an educator’s role is not that of a dictator, but that of a guide, allowing students to discover for themselves new ideas and concepts and enabling them to use that knowledge in their own lives.
