Zhou Liang is a Ph.D. student studying the role of dissolved organic nitrogen and phosphorus as nutrient sources in oligotrophic gyres.
Andrea Emmanuelli is a senior Geology major doing her Honors thesis on the isotopic composition of nitrate on samples she collected on a NOAA cruise in August 2022 in the Gulf of Alaska. She is a member of FSU's WiMSE community!

Rachel Thomas graduated with her Ph.D. in Summer 2022. She studied the isotope effect of nitrate assimilation in the Southern Ocean.
Heather Forrer studied nutrients supporting new and regenerated production in the Southern Ocean and South Pacific.
Mary Dennis was an all-star lab technician. She graduated from the University of North Georgia with a Chemistry degree in 2020.
Dylan Opitz was an undergraduate Research Assistant who measured phosphate and dissolved organic phosphorus concentrations in marine samples. Dylan graduated in 2021 from the Geology program and is now pursuing a Masters degree at Florida Atlantic University. Congratulations, Dylan!
Luciana Villarroel is a FSU class of 2020 Environmental Chemistry major and received the FSU Chemistry Dept. Brautlecht Scholarship, and is beginning a Ph.D. at the MIT/WHOI joint program starting in August 2020 - congratulations, Luciana!.

Emily Dailey is a FSU class of 2019 Environmental Science major writing an honors thesis on the carbonate chemistry of the South Pacific. Emily is working with SEA semester out of Woods Hole after graduation.

Herb Johnson was a FSU class of 2014 Environmental Science major who studied nutrient cycling in the Gulf of Mexico during an internship in summer 2014.
Julie Sanders was a UM class of 2013 Marine Sciences - Chemistry double major and math minor and Hollings Scholar who measured inorganic and organic nutrients in samples from the Eastern Tropical South Pacific. Julie did her NOAA Holling's Internship at the NOAA GFDL with John Dunne and looked at temperature and salinity distributions in different models. Julie is beginning law school at the Ohio State University in fall 2014.
Blaire Umhau was a UM class of 2013 Marine Sciences - Chemistry double major who wrote her senior honors thesis with me and Larry Peterson on Paleo perspectives on producivity in the South Pacific. Pictured are Blaire and Larry with half of a multicore collected by Will Berelson from USC on a cruise to the Eastern Tropical South Pacific in 2011. In the fall of 2013 Blaire began a Marine Sciences Ph.D. with Claudia Benitez-Nelson at the University of South Carolina. After graduating, Blaire began working at SEA Semester.
Stephanie Cortes was a UM class of 2014 Marine Sciences - Biology double major who worked in my lab measuring the concentration of nutrients in marine samples.

Rob Letscher was a Ph.D. student with Dennis Hansell who graduated in July, 2012, and is now faculty at the University of New Hampshire. Rob worked in my lab on DON method development.
Brian Peters was a UM Honors Marine Science-Chemistry undergraduate who did his senior Honors thesis with me on macro-nutrient distributions in the Eastern Tropical South Pacific. Brian graduated in May 2011 and earned a Ph.D. at Stanford University with Karen Casciotti.
