Hello and welcome to my Personal Webpage!
Currently I am a Library Associate for Strozier Library at Florida State University. I earned my M.S. in Library and Information Studies in August 2015. I am also a current member of ALA and YALSA. I earned my B.A. in Religion from FSU in the Spring of 2012 before deciding to continue my education in graduate school. During my time as an undergraduate I enjoyed playing in the World Renowned Marching Chiefs (FSU's Marching Band) in addition to being a sister of Tau Beta Sigma Band Sorority. As a graduate I have spent much of my leisure time playing Ultimate Frisbee for both FSU and Tallahassee club teams. All of these organizations have honed my skills in communication, teamwork and leadership as well as provided great life lessons.
My interests within the LIS Community include Youth Services, Reference and Instruction, Scholarly Communication and Marketing of Information Services, as well as a breadth of Multimedia Formats. Many of the projects I have worked on have been geared towards these interests and can be found here. My ultimate goal is to become a Youth Services Librarian either in an academic setting or at a public library or a Reference and Instruction Librarian in an academic library. I hope to be able to engage with my community through the library by offering different programs while cultivating a welcoming environment for all.
Outside of school and work, my interests include playing ultimate frisbee, playing guitar and spending time with my wonderful husband and dogs. I also love writing children's books and hope to become a published author. My husband and I also enjoy fixing up and refurbishing old furniture together.
