Isabel Milbourn, Brandon Scribner, and Youngsun Kim (doctoral students in Music Theory and Composition) will be providing free undergraduate music theory tutoring in Cawthon Hall this semester. (Tutoring in Cawthon is open to non-Cawthon residents; you just have to ring the front desk from the North entrance to get into the building.)
Always remember that "tutoring" does not mean "doing your homework for you." You are welcome to ask questions, work together on some workbook problems that are not part of the assignment, get feedback on a practice quiz, etc. However, you should not ask a tutor (or anyone else) to give you an answer or to proofread your homework before you turn it in. Please show your appreciation for their valuable service by not putting them in an uncomfortable position. If you wish to receive homework credit for attending tutoring, you must bring your corrected assignment(s) in order to review the mistakes. Also, it is your responsibility to provide your name and section so that the tutoring credit can be properly recorded. You are also welcome to consult an instructor for tutoring credit. Office hours are posted on Canvas. |
