Mrs. Debbie Orth Shearer, PGA Tour Management, class
of 1982, divides the men from the boys, or in this case
the women from the girls, in how one responds in times of difficulty.
In 2006, Debbie lost her 22 year-old son George in an automobile
accident. George was an organ donor, but due to the tragic circumstances of his death, his organs were unable to be used. Debbie chose to honor her son by becoming a living organ donor
in his memory. Through “Alliance for Paired Donations”,
Debbie began a chain of life named for George by donating one
of her kidneys to save the life of another, which led to five
living organ donors saving five other lives. Debbie has
become one of life’s caped crusaders. |
