Local arrangements information
Location: Registration and all papers will be
taking place on the second floor of the Longmire Building on FSU's campus.
Parking:
- Friday:
The Presbyterian University Center across the street from the FSU
College of Music's Keursteiner Building has offered us parking passes
for Friday for only $5 each. Their lot is closer than any of the FSU
lots where visitors can park (for a similar fee). The
Presbyterian University Center's parking lot is on Copeland Street just
north of Park Avenue (right at the B
pointer on the map below).
After parking, cross the street (you will be looking at the Keursteiner
Building) and and follow the path just to the left (south) which will
lead you directly to the Longmire Building. (Longmire is directly
behind Keursteiner.) Come to registration in
Longmire, buy a parking pass, and then return to your car and post
it.
- There is also a considerable amount of
metered parking on Park Avenue, but you have to feed meters every four
hours and they are closely enforced.
- Saturday:
Parking is free at all Florida State University lots on
Saturdays and after 4:30 pm on weekdays. The closest lots are on
opposite corners of Copeland and College Streets. (See map
below.) There is also a large parking lot at the corner of Call
and Macomb Streets.
- Note: There
is construction on Convocation Way, which is the street closest to
Longmire. Parking
there will be essentially impossible for visitors. (Really, don't even
think about driving down Convocation Way.)
Walking
to Longmire from the Aloft Hotel:
See the map below (or download
same map as pdf here), which shows both the Aloft hotel (200
N. Monroe Street, at the corner of Call and Tennessee) and the Longmire
Building. The map sugests walking along Call Street, but I think
walking along Park Avenue would be considerably nicer. As you walk
along Park, going west, you should just cross Copeland and then
continue along a campus path that goes by the
Kuersteiner Building (to the south). That path leads directly to the
Longmire Building. You can come in any entrance and walk up to the
second floor. (Longmire is directly behind Keursteiner.)

Help
us run a green conference! We will have recycling available on
campus and we will be handing out only minimal amounts of paper
materials. You can find out more about Tallhassee and the Big Bend Area
at visittallahassee.com.
We also encourage you to bring your own travel mug to cut down on waste.
