(Written by Windy to teach young windlings the Throalic Alphabet)
Always keep your spirit high,
Because Windlings can glide and fly
Children envy us our wings
Dreaming they could fly and sing.
Every member of our race,
Flies with daring and with grace,
Going over trees so high,
Hurling through the evening sky.
In our flight we are free,
Just as bird and bumblebee.
Keeping freedom in our hearts,
Laughing back and forth we dart.
Many fly through the sky,
Nightingales, you, and I.
Only windlings of all these
Play within the summer's breeze
Quietly preparing for winter's cold
Realizing that we grow old.
Stop a bit and take a rest,
Think of what we do best.
Under sky tell me who
Values life more than you?
We alone true freedom prize
Xaulting it in sunlit skies
You alone of name-giver race
Zoom the skies in freedom's grace.
