About Me

Here is a brief description of who I am and what I am like...

I was born in 1971 in California and grew up a Navy Brat following my father around the country as he was tranfered from duty station to duty station. As a result of this I have lived in many different parts of the country including Chula Vista and Ventura in California, Houston, Staten Island, Jacksonville, Guam and Cuba.

My college years started out at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. Many of my friends from MSU are still in Michigan. I graduated from State in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Arts with a Journalism concentration. After graduation I entered the job market seeking employment as Technical Writer but soon came to the realization that the Technical Writing industry was in a period of wanting only persons with a lot of experience. As a result, I worked a year at Burger King and resolved to go back to school.

My goal of returning to school was met when I started graduate studies in January of 1995 at the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) of The Florida State University. I earned my M.S. in Library and Information Studies in May 1996 and have since held several jobs at the School (now the School of Information Studies) including Web Systems Administrator and Senior Web Developer. I am currently employed as Web Development Coordinator for the Information and Clearinghouse Services section of the Educational Services Program.
