New Realities is an up and coming high-technology research and development firm. It's traditional areas of expertise are the development of high-end simsense and computer hardware components and the design and implementation of high quality virtual environments for a variety of corporate and government patrons. Most of the components designed in NRI's labs are contracted out for production and then sold to the big computer and simsense corporations such as Truman, Fuchi, MCT and Renraku.
Over the past several years, NRI has been pursuing a course of active diversification. A wide range of tactics have been used to develop assets in new fields, with a decided tendency toward the aggressive acquisition of companies holding the currently desired assets.
Recent additions to NRI have given it a respectable number of assets in the biotech and military technology areas and a unexpectedly strong presence in the magical services industry.

savy about magical security than most tech outfits its size. Trust me...I know...]<<<<

private. Must be some part of Mora's long term agenda.]<<<<

The corporate structure of NRI consists of the fairly typical board of directors overseeing a Home Office and several major divisions which are divided along regional lines. Under the regional divisions are smaller units and subsidiaries which are generaly product or service oriented.
New Realities was formed 17 years ago by the merger of two smaller companies in the computer graphics and software development fields. It remained a publicly traded corporation until about five years ago when the senior management successfully carried out a buyout in defense against an MCT subsidiary. After the dust had settled, the company was not only privately owned but had a new CEO.
Prior to the buyout, the CEO and Chairman of the Board was Alexandra Woods, a senior VPs in the one of the companies which originally formed NRI. Following the buyout, she lost her CEO position to the VP of Research and Development, Dr. Anthony Mora. The following year, Mora also replaced Woods as Chairman.
>>>>[Why did Mora wait so long to can Woods? If he had the muscle to
pry her out of the Prez's chair right away, why wait so long?]<<<<

>>>>[Consolidation, chummer...consolidation. The man had to make sure
he didn't upset the old order of power too fast or he'd have had a whole load
of suits screamin' mad.]<<<<<

top cheese almost from the beginning and was dug in real deep.]<<<<

techie. That Ph.D. is in Information Technology and Engineering, not business
