China Rose

When my dog dies I shall stuff her
with hand woven textiles, clay pots
toys and grass.

I'll strap to her side
a tray of incense and candles
to have when she needs them,
then invite her on her way
sorry it's not in my power
to lengthen her stay-
but wonderfully happy
she came.
