I'm finishing a postdoc at Duke University as a visiting
assistant professor in the political science department. I have
been working with several economists in the political economy
group. I am entering the economics job market for the first time
this year. I completed my Ph.D. in economics at Florida State University in
the summer of 2011. My current research interest is how economic and poltical
institutions impact the poor in the developing world. Other ares of interest
are public economics and financial and monetary economics.
I have a bachelors degree in electrical engineering from Santa Clara
University. Before life as an economist I worked in the San Francisco
Bay Area at various engineering firms—Trimble Navigation, Stanford
Telecom/Newbridge Networks/Alcatel (yes, we were bought out twice!),
nBand Communications, and ECM.
