Amanda Driscoll

Thank you for visiting my website. I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Florida State University. As a Ph.D student at Washington University in St. Louis, I was a Graduate Research Associate in the Center for Empirical Research in the Law and a member of the Democratic Institutions Research Team.

My research interests center on comparative democratic institutions with special regard for legislative and judicial institutions in Latin America. More generally I am interested in legislative behavior, electoral institutions, and quantitative political methodology. My research weds these interests to explore the micro-incentives motivating judicial reform projects across Latin America, advanced over the past fifteen years. I use this data to test theories pertaining to judicial independence, delegation and legislative position-taking.
